We are very, very excited to announce Tyne Idols very first tour after COVID spoiled all the fun… but we are back and we hope you are going to join us again!
The Lindisfarne Tour followed by a Fish & Chip supper at The Dome before The Lindisfarne Story at The Playhouse, Whitley Bay — all in one day!
THE TOUR
Leaving 1.30pm at The Links Bus Stop, Eastbourne Gardens Car Park.
A three hour tour celebrating 50 years of Lindisfarne with Ray Laidlaw as your host. Sez Ray: “The beginnings of Lindisfarne were in North Shields in the mid-1960s. Rod Clements, Ray Laidlaw and Simon Cowe began making music together around the coast, and Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay all featured heavily in the Lindisfarne Story after Ray Jackson and Alan Hull joined the group. There will be lots of tales linked to the locations we visit and loads of music, some of it quite rare.”
THE FISH & CHIPS SUPPER
Arrive at Trenchers Restaurant in The Dome, Spanish City at 5.00pm (supper to include a cup of tea).
THE SHOW
The Lindisfarne Story at the Whitley Bay Playhouse starts at 7.30pm.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lindisfarne’s legendary Fog on the Tyne album, frontman Billy Mitchell and founder member Ray Laidlaw tell the group’s amazing story with a combination of superb songs, vital video, tall tales and of course lashings of scurrilous gossip!!
